ALBERTA FERRETTI: Milan Fashion Week 2011- "FLOWERFUL WOMEN"

In a picture perfect Hallmark greeting card...of blooming  flowers, sprawling terrain, beautiful meadows, a hazy afternoon by the brook...wearing straw hats, the Alberta Feretti’s Spring 2011 took us to her world of feminine dresses, a retro-floral chic in the country side.

Think , ‘Little House of the Prairie’...soft breeze on the hill, blowing diaphanous chiffon in prints with flat gladiator shoes, summery pieces every women can wear on any hot day around the world. Flats are coming this season.

The collection was a mix of chiffon ruffled dresses, floral maxi dresses, shorts,  blazers and blouses with large embroidered sleeves. There were many crochet pieces included bloomers, sweaters and bralets.
The neutral colour palette was warmed with some delicious caramel pieces, plus forest green and mustard yellow.

The cream  chiffon dresses with  lace embroidery, become the contrasting element on flowy -fairy ensemble. The colours are tea stained silks and earthy reds, an organic and natural move from Ferretti, usually expects lightly glittering evening dresses and modern femininity from her previous collection. Chiffon dresses featured dark foliage prints and fell to the floor in tiers or from drawstring peasant neckline.

A  grey linen suit with long shorts, while a brighter coral dress in ruffles, chiffon cut-outs with dainty piping became a rendezvous of daydream, a visual treat from a Ferretti woman.

Long dresses in lime, mustard and olive were pleated and twisted like draped  around the body, clinging bias and full sleeves that were gathered down in the wrist.
Models looked sweet and romantic in luxe subtle gold make-up, expressing a glossy  radiance...summer here they come!!!!
