Tracy Anderson Method

Want an A - list body? Celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson may be a little bit too busy with Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow to help you out personally, but don't worry you can purchase her three new DVDs that will whip your butt into shape. Face it, winter is over, you can't hide out in your sweats anymore. Ti's the season for short shorts and even shorter skirts! If you are like me and hate gyms then an at home workout DVD is for you. There is nothing I hate more then going to the gym and being surrounded by sweaty meat heads. Gross! I love to run, but it's still to chilly for that and the Victoria Beckham diet is making me cranky, so soon I will have Tracy Anderson kicking my behind. I will keep you all posted! If you are interested in joining me on my workout journey you can pick up a copy of any of her three DVDs here.

PS. One out of the three DVDs is for those of you ladies trying to lose your baby weight!

I love jewelry. I now love Jessica Kagan Cushman. She created the original bangle bracelets with phrases on them. Each bracelet is hand poured resin, hand inked and hand finished. They are fabulous and I love them. Best of all they are limited edition, so get them while you can. Married to the Mob

If you know me, you know that I don't usually dress like this nor am I big fan of street wear. I like my clothing to be simple and classic. Last summer I had to change it up a little bit after spotting a bright pink T-shirt that read "My Girls Rock Balenciaga & Smoke Mad Marijuana". You know I had to have it, right? If you haven't heard of Married to the Mob, you need to get on it. They are bold, and I love it! If you don't mind a little profanity plastered on your clothing then check out Married to the Mob on Karmaloop. Here are two of my favourite t-shirts from their new collection...

School House Day Dream

I worked on a photo shoot a few weeks ago with another one of my favorite photographers, Kyla Hemmelgarn http://www.kylahemmelgarn.com/

The theme for the shoot was very day dream like, whimisical, soft and pretty. We shot on location at a 50 old school house in the middle of nowhere. Our model, Snejina was beautiful and had the body of a dancer which fit the theme perfectly.

I kept the makeup very soft and simples, to keep the focus on the models natural beauty rather than covering it up - less is more...remember.

Check out some of the pics from our shoot below.

Mama Burger, Popa Burger, Uncle Burger

I've never craved a family of burgers as much as I did the other day at my A&W photo shoot.

I was on set at A & W for a few hours the other day doing makeup for their promo ads but they did not shut down the restaurant while we were shooting. They kept the restaurant open and all I saw was burgers, and fries and chubby chicken for hours. I've never wanted to pig out on burgers and fries so much in my life.

Needless to say, I left the shoot with a huge belly and the smell of grease all over me....lovely.

My Beauty Shoot

A couple weeks ago, I was set to do makeup for a beauty photo shoot with one of my favorite photographers, Tiffany Alonzo http://www.tiffanyalonzo.com

After waiting about an hour, the model for the shoot had still not arrived. We tried calling her, texting her...but no answer. It was my first "model no show" In the modeling industry, a professional model not showing up for a shoot is one of the worst things.

Anyways, we were all so disappointed because everything was ready to go - hair, makeup, studio, photographer - and it was all going to go to waste because of the missing model.

Then, the photographer had the crazy idea of using ME as the model!!! Yeah I know!! Crazy! I refused to do it....i can not take a decent pictur to save my life. Well, the photographer would not take no for an answer so she forced me to do it.

I have to admit the end result looks awesome. I'm super happy with it and I'd thought I would share it with you guys.

So here's my first attempt at being a super model....NOT!

Tara Lett - AiAi (Let's Go) Music Video

I had the pleasure of working with up and coming artist Tara Lett on her new music video AiAi (Let's Go). The video was shot over 3 days with lots of makeup, hair, wardrobe and set changes. The song was so catchy everyone was singing it during the entire shoot. Tara had awesome dancers on set and everyone had a great time working on the video.

I did about 6 different makeup looks. My favorite is the golds. Check out Tara's music video below and all her different makeup looks. To hear more of Tara's music, check out her myspace page http://www.myspace.com/taralettmusic

Makeup Tutorial for Small Eyes

This video is a look specifically for small eyes. If you have small eyes or small eye space (space between your lid and your eyebrows)you need to adjust your eye shadow application to suit your eye shape. Tbe best way to do this is to focus most of your eye shadow along your lashline rather than on your lid.

Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss

I laughed so hard when I first saw this. It is just way too good! What are your two favourite things? If your answer is guys and gloss, then you and I have something in common! I really shouldn't say guys....it should be guy, as in one guy, and no I am not talking about David Beckham...although....anyway, back to the topic at hand...guys and gloss! The people at Urban Decay are genius! They have combined guys and gloss into one handy little tube. Whether you go for a man in a suit (yum!), or a casually dressed cutie, Urban Decay has a man for you. And yes, when you tilt the tube, his clothing does come off...how funny is that? I am a fan of Kirk and Timothy. I though about Julio, but the child that comes with him is not necessary.

Estee Lauder Nutritious Mineral Make Up

Estee Lauder has perfected mineral make up! How can you not love it?! It looks so natural, goes on beautifully and is great for your skin - total win win situation! Best part is that you can get it in powder and liquid form. Check out their website for more details!

Brand New - Dove HairMinimising Deodorant

Dove has just launched the first ever hair minimising anti-perspirant deodorant, Dove HairMinimising is a brand new range of antiperspirants that not only cares for delicate underarm skin around the clock, but also helps you have underarms that look and feel hair-free for longer between shaves - what more could a girl ask for in her deodorant!.

Contained in the anti-perspirant is a unique hair minimising formula that contains the brand new Pro-Epil complex, with natural extracts & combined with with Dove ¼ moisturising cream it is gentle on the skin. With everyday use hair will start to seem less noticeable, your underarms will feel and look smoother and hair will feel softer, finer and easier to remove.
Like all Dove products, Dove HairMinimising nourishes and cares for delicate the skin on your underarms as well as providing 24-hour antiperspirant protection.

After using the product for the last week I have been delighted with the results so far & it will be a firm fixture in bathroom cabinet from now on! Firstly the scent is really fresh & subtle which doesn't over power your perfume which is always important, also it doesn't leave a white residue either which is an added bonus, I found that none of my clothes had any deodorant marks on them at all, plus it really does feel very gentle on the skin, no stinging at all once applied. Anyway most importantly does it reduce under arm hair growth?? Well I have definitely noticed a visible improvement with the hair finer & definitely easier to remove, with it growing back a lot slower than before, no prickles the following day!.. As I have dark hair this is a god send & having to shave your underarms each day or every other day can start to really harm the skin there so this genius deodorant will certainly be a saviour in the summer!!!

Available Nationwide from this Month.

Skinfood Launches Fresh New Skincare

Over the last few weeks I have been putting a new skincare brand from New Zealand that is now available in the UK to the test, it is a natural & green product which is also unisex, the products are also all free from & free from artificial colours, perfumes or paraben preservatives making them suitable for sensitive skins too.

All the products are enriched with pure ingrediants from New Zealand such as Manuka Honey to soothe & heal, Avocodo Oil which is a rich antioxidant, Aloe Vera to hydrate, Organge Oil to rejuvenate & revitialise & Lavender to balance the complexion & stimulate regeneration, they are also formulated Coconut Palm that is rich in Vitamins A & E to give excellent protection & nourishment to the skin.
The full range includes an Exfoliator to a Cleanser, Mud Mask & three fantastic Moisturisers as well as Shave Gel too.

Firstly the 'Cleans All' is a light gentle wash for the skin which is tough on make-up at the same time (!!), just wet your face & apply a little cleanser & massage into the skin then wash off with warm water, it is also gentle enough to use as an eye make-up remover too, I found that only one wash was required to remove my make-up & then a little on some cotton wool to remove any eye make-up, my skin felt really soft afterwards unlike other face washes that can leave your skin feeling tight or dry. Their 'Exfoliating Scrub' is used once a week to gently polish the skin & brighten the complexion by removing dead skin cells, it also contains Tea Tree to heal as well & as with the cleanser it doesn't leave the skin feeling dry but instantly softer instead.
The 'Light Moistuiser' is probably best suited to those with an oily skin, non-greasy it absorbs instantly into the skin without leaving any residue, it also leaves a light matt finish on the skin & is great for men who don't want a heavy perfumed moisturiser but for us girls it is great for using as a base to make-up! Another light moistuiser is the SPF15 Moisturiser which protects the skin against sun damage obviously so helps promote a youthful complexion & with SPF being the only proven anti-ageing ingrediant it's as good as any anti-ageing cream! The Nourishing Moisturiser is great for those with dry skins but I found it works really well as a night cream, it is very think in consistancy & creates a barrier to lock in moisture, the avocado & sunflower oils help repair the skin while you sleep & balance the complexion. The 'Mud Mask' is a great weekly treat for the skin & is made with New Zealand's famous mud from Rotura (known worldwide for it's amazing healing qualities), only left on for 10mins it draws out impurities in the skin leaving it cleansed & feeling soft as well as reducing pore size - even only after one use! Finally is the 'Shave Gel', again a unisex product, it protects & heals the skin to counteract the drying effects of shaving, I found my legs felt great afterwards as the skin can feel pretty dry & sore afterwards at times meaning I have to apply a lot of lotion, but no need this time!
All in all this is an excellent range that is natural & great for all skin types, it's also inexpensive, each item costing only £4.99, available nationwide at Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose & Online at Amazon.

Alexis Bledel

The look I'm doing today is a look inspired by a picture I saw of actress Alexis Bledel. You guys might now her as Rory from the Gilmore Girls and she was also in the movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Well I saw this picture of her and I thought she looked beautiful so I wanted to try it out.
Alexis's best feature is her eyes and she plays them up in this look but in a simple way. She used very little eye shadow on her eyes and instead focused on thickening her lashline with liner and false lashes. That made her gorgeous blue eyes pop out. She kept her skin fresh and natural. You can see all her freckles (which I love). To get a sheer foundation application like this, you can use either a tinted moisturizer or a very light foundation or you can even just use concealer on problem areas and thats it. By letting your natural skin shine through, its makes your look young, fresh and beautiful.
She used bronzer on her cheeks and shimmer on her face to make her skin glow.
For her eyebrows, she just brushed them clean without filling them in.
Her lips are a gorgeous fushia pink which complement her eyes beautifully.

Aveeno - Best Product for Dry Skins

Great news for all dry skin sufferers, the new Aveeno Skincare range uses naturally active ingrediants to gently nourish & moisturise the skin back to health in just 24 hours!
Using ingrediants such as Oats which have been valued for their skin care throughout history, even dating back to the ancient Greeks & Romans, some of the many benefits of oats include moisturisation, cleansing & soothing any itchiness caused by dry skin. Aveeno contains naturally active colloidal oatmeal which leaves a protective barrier on the skin to lock in moisture as well as relieve & improve the look & feel of dry skin. Another natural ingrediant in Aveeno is Shea Butter which is rich in vitamins & nutrients and has many emollient, soothing & hydrating properties as well as being an excellent antioxidant for the skin.
Aveeno includes an Intensive Dry Range, a Moisturing Range as well as a Cleansing Range, one of the most popular from the moistursing range is the Daily Moisturing Lotion which contains the collodial oatmeal, after using the lotion I noticed that unlike many other intense moisturisers it is easily aborbed into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, afterwards my skin felt incredibly smooth & soft as I could almost feel the protective barrier that is created to lock in moisture, giving me baby soft skin! Also available is the 'Aveeno Cream' which is an excellent intense moisture surge for the skin within the intensive range, it is best suited for those with very dry & sensitive skins as well as those prone to eczema, also within this range is the Bath Oil & Body Lotion as well as Colloidal Bath Powder which will gently cleanse & moisturise the skin, excellent for very sensitive skin. Body & Hand Washes have also been formulated all with the same enriched qualities & great for dry/sensitive skin. This product range can be enjoyed by alll skin types especially seeing as everybody suffers from dry skin at one time or another & it is always a great idea to protect the skin, but for sensitive & dry skins this fantastic mild & natural product is a god send! Available at Boots Nationwide

How To Apply Your "Tan" Like A Pro

Here is a step by step on how to get the perfect tan with self-tanner!

1. Exfoliate skin in the shower with a body scrub, loofah, or scrubby gloves, and shave your legs. The smoother skin is, the better your tan will look.
2. Don't apply moisturizer to skin. It can prevent the self-tanning formula from taking hold and can result in spottiness.
3. When skin is 100% dry, apply your self-tanner evenly. Work in every zone to ensure you cover all areas.
4. Move from head to toes apply with fingers tightly closed (spreading self-tanner with splayed fingers can leave you with streaks).
5. Use light, circular strokes for evenness.
6. Don't tan the sides or heels of your feet- the thick skin there will soak up the formula. Instead, make your tan fade gradually from your shins to your feet, by blending down softly.
7. After, applying, immediately scrub your hands with soap and water so your palms don't turn dark. Don't forget to scrub between your fingers and your cuticles!
8. Last, take a barely- damp washcloth and buff your knees, elbows, around your jaw line, ankles, feet and wrists to blend and soften the colour there and to avoid demarcation lines. If you feel the need to go darker, repeat the process the next day, and so on, until you get the desired colour.

Under Eye Circles

One of the most common questions I get asked about is "How to cover Under Eye circles?"
Under eye circles are very common. They can make you look tired and worn out so covering them is an important part of your makeup look.
The best way to cover under eye circles is with Concealer. Concealer is thicker than foundation so provides more coverage. A good concealer will have hints of orange in it to offset the blueish tone that's commonly found by the skin under the eyes.
Concealer is the main product to use but if you really want full coverage under your eyes, there are a few extra steps to take.

1. Eye cream - use an eye cream under your eye to prep the eye area. Look for one that reduces fine lines and puffiness.

2. Foundation - when you apply your foundation application on your face, also brush a slight bit foundation under your eyes.

3. Concealer - Use a medium to full coverage concealer, starting from your inner corner and blend out. Look for a concealer that is creamy and easy to blend.

4. Powder - lightly apply powder under your eyes to set in the concealer.

Follow these steps and your under eye circles will disappear!

Some of my favorite Concealers:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I recently started noticing that my eye shadow does not last as long as I would really like to it. It is almost completely diminished by around 6 pm. That does not make me happy. So, I started my search for the perfect eyeshadow primer. On my journey I discovered, the award winning Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but what really caught my eye was Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion in Sin. This is really great because not only does it grab on to your eyeshadow and keep it there, but it has a subtle champagne coloured shimmer that compliments any eyeshadow and it can double as a highlighter! You can also wear it alone on your lids to get an effortless look. This product is exclusive to Sephora so don't go anywhere else searching for it.

Dermalogica Skin Care Line

I've started using a new skin care line that I'm in love with so I thought I'd share with you guys.

Dermalogica Skin Care products
Dermalogica is a skin care line based out of Los Angeles. The line was started in 1986 by Skin Therapist Jane Wurwand. Jane started the line because she felt there was nothing on the market at that time that focused on "skin health" rather than "beauty".
Her vision was to create a product line free of common irritants and ingredients that could cause breakouts, that would improve skin health, and were only available from qualified skin therapy professionals. That's how Dermalogica became to be.

All Dermalogica products are manufactured in the USA and they have never taken part in animal testing.

When it comes to frilly advertising or fancy packaging, Dermalogica could care less. They are all about the product and that's it.

Their product line caters to all different skin concerns like Oiliness, Acne/Breakouts, Signs of Skin Aging, Uneven skin tone, Sensitivity/Redness or Dryness/Dehydration. Your bound to find the right skin products for yourself.

I'm currently using the Derma Clay Cleanser which feels so nice and creamy on your face. I'm also using the Multi-Active Toner and the Oil Control Lotion.
I'm very happy with this product so far and my skin looks great!

To find out more about Dermalogica check out their website at www.dermalogica.com
