Bronzed & Beautiful

First off, let me start by saying, I feel like I am in rehab. I am on a business trip in Vermont and I am going through some serious shopping withdrawal. I shop everyday. Every single day, I make some sort of purchase. I have a problem. It's an issue, but I am not going to do anything to change it. No point in lying, right? I currently have a break from meetings and I am lounging in my hotel room, listening to music and flipping through magazines making a list of things that I plan on purchasing on Friday upon my sweet return to Toronto. I miss walking down Queen Street West! I miss knowing that there is a Sephora and MAC Cosmetics close by. I have no idea if either of my two loves are close to my hotel....there is something very unsettling about that...All I know is that there is a Ben & Jerry's factory close by.... I love Ben & Jerry's...Cherry Garcia...yum! Okay, enough about ice cream...I digress...my original point for this post was to talk about bronzers! I have packed enough clothing to last me about 10 days...my trip is only four days long...This morning I noticed that I only brought one pair of pants and a large selection of skirts. I am not the best packer, obviously. The pants I wore yesterday, so today I was stuck wearing a skirt, which is fine, don't get me wrong. I love skirts. I actually prefer them over pants. What I don't love is pale legs! Luckily, being the girly girl that I am, I used Glow Fusion Natural Protein Tan over the weekend, and to my surprise my legs still look fabulous! I have a wide variety of tanning sprays and lotions at home and I thought I would recommend them to my fellow beauties. Here are a list of all of my favorites...

Glow Fusion Natural Protein Tan - Great for face & body

Glow Fusion Natural Protein Tan Enhancing Emulsion - Excellent when used in conjunction with Glow Fusion Natural Protein Tan

Fake Bake Skinny Solutions -Not only is this product a self tanner, but it tones as well!

Joico Skin Luxe Golden Shimmer Gradual Self Tanner - Joico is expanding their products into skin are and I'm so excited! I love their haircare products and so far I am very happy with their skincare line!

Jergens Natural Glow - This is the least expensive item in this list, but it is amazing! It is offered as a lotion as well as a foam.

Neutrogena MicroMist Sunless Tanning Spray - This is one of the best sprays I have used. It goes on even and dries super quick.

Here are two items that I have heard great things about and wish to try as soon as possible...
Sevin Nyne - Lindsay Lohan's new tanning mist...only available at select Sephora locations...if you can't get it at your local Sephora, you can order it online.

Sevin Nyne By Lindsay Lohan

Linsday Lohan has teamed up with tanning expert Lorit Simon and created her very own tanning mist called Sevin Nyne, which is named after her two lucky numbers. Sevin Nyne promises to provide an even and natural looking tan. It is formulated with DHA, which is a a carbohydrate that darkens the skin as well as caramel to deepen the tan. It also contains Goji Berry and Chardonnay extracts to nourish the skin. This product is the first of many products to come from Sevin Nyne. It is even packaged in an environmentally friendly aerosol bottle.  Go Lindsay! If you are going through a break up, pick up a bottle of Sevin Nyne and a miniskirt...and maybe a cocktail...or two... and I'm sure it will cure your broken heart. Sevin Nyne is exclusively available at Sephora.com and  portion of all proceeds will be donated to skin cancer awareness charities.

How To Apply Your "Tan" Like A Pro

Here is a step by step on how to get the perfect tan with self-tanner!

1. Exfoliate skin in the shower with a body scrub, loofah, or scrubby gloves, and shave your legs. The smoother skin is, the better your tan will look.
2. Don't apply moisturizer to skin. It can prevent the self-tanning formula from taking hold and can result in spottiness.
3. When skin is 100% dry, apply your self-tanner evenly. Work in every zone to ensure you cover all areas.
4. Move from head to toes apply with fingers tightly closed (spreading self-tanner with splayed fingers can leave you with streaks).
5. Use light, circular strokes for evenness.
6. Don't tan the sides or heels of your feet- the thick skin there will soak up the formula. Instead, make your tan fade gradually from your shins to your feet, by blending down softly.
7. After, applying, immediately scrub your hands with soap and water so your palms don't turn dark. Don't forget to scrub between your fingers and your cuticles!
8. Last, take a barely- damp washcloth and buff your knees, elbows, around your jaw line, ankles, feet and wrists to blend and soften the colour there and to avoid demarcation lines. If you feel the need to go darker, repeat the process the next day, and so on, until you get the desired colour.

Hourglass Cosmetics

I have never tried this line, but I recently came across it. I believe it is fairly new. Here is what Sephora has to say about Hourglass cosmetics:

"Created by renowned beauty expert Carisa Janes, Hourglass brings timeless extravagance and style to the über-chic beauty junkie, all in one clutch-worthy collection. From lush shades to incredibly luxurious packaging, makeup has never been so pretty—or perfecting. Every product in the Hourglass line is formulated with the latest in cosmetic technology. Cutting-edge ingredients work to smooth and soften the skin, while innovations in packaging give the line its super chic appeal. Hourglass opens your eyes to a beautiful new reality: style and substance can coexist."

Have any of you ladies tried this line? Let me know! I was thinking of trying their primer, but the price tag is a bit large, maybe I will try a lip gloss instead, just to see what the brand is like...as if I don't have enough lip gloss...
