Fabulous Friday!

It's Friday ladies!! Since we have Hot Mess Monday, I thought it would switch it up and have Fabulous Friday for your viewing pleasure. This is Rihanna sizzling in New York City. I love everything about this outfit. Her dress is incredible. I love the nude with the black ruching. It is so sexy without being over the top. I even like her hair! Her make up also looks perfect. The only thing I would maybe change are her pumps. I think she could have gotten away with something a little more sexy. Overall I must say that she looks fabulous! This dress has my name written all over it. Rihanna, my people will be in touch with your people...

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Be Bright This Summer!!

I just purchased the most amazing shade of pink nail polish. Butter London's most popular nail colour at the moment is Portobello Pink! I was put on a waiting list to get this colour, it is that popular! Anyway, it is amazing and I will be using this colour religiously all summer long along with Essie's Carousel Coral! You can grab Butter London's Portobello Pink and Essie's Carousel Coral at Delineation Hair & Skin Essentials on Yonge Street.

Jergens Natural Beauty March Hits the Streets of London!

Masses of avid natural beauty fans took to the streets of central London yesterday (Tuesday May 26th) to support Jergens Naturals, a new range from America’s no.1 best selling body care brand, Jergens, in a lively march to highlight the importance of Natural Beauty. The key communication was, your skins not synthetic, so why use a moisturiser that is?

The active parade, which was fronted by Ruby Hammer, International Make-up Artist and ambassador for the Jergens Naturals brand, started along Carnaby Street and quickly gained momentum, finishing at Leicester Square.

The message was clear- Plastic is Out, Natural is In. The fans spread the word that the natural revolution had begun and Jergens Naturals products are leading the way.

Ruby Hammer has been a keen supporter of the Jergens brand for many years. She enthusiastically led the parade highlighting that Jergens Naturals body care, is the modern way to moisturise naturally and offers highly effective moisturisers for 100% beautiful skin through 95% natural ingredients.

Ruby said of the day, I’ve always been a strong supporter of natural products, and it was great to be part of the day. The amount of people that came along to show their support for Jergens Naturals, body moisturisers was fantastic to see. It just goes to show that natural beauty really is the way forward.

As part of the campaign, mannequins were seen in and around the capital highlighting the Your Skin Is Not Synthetic message. Several Londoners even reported spotting a mannequin riding around in a grass-covered rickshaw!

Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon

My beautiful friend Lauren has encouraged me to do the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon. I have always wanted to do one of these runs, but I have never actually put in the effort. I love to run and have been making an effort to do so 4-5 times a week. I love it. It’s precious time that I get myself, without the blinking red light of my Blackberry taunting me or individuals trying to talk to me or annoy me. It’s nice and relaxing. I get time to clear my head and calm my nerves. I don’t think I will be able to do the marathon or half marathon, so I signed up for the 5 km. I think that seems doable. If you are like me and have always wanted to do one of these runs and help out a good cause - then why not do the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon on September 27? You can register here.

Happy Wednesday!!

Hot Mess Monday

Welcome to Hot Mess Monday! Monday usually sucks, so I thought I would spice them up a little bit. I did a Fashion Police post last Tuesday featuring Whitney Port in the gold jumpsuit. Well, I have decided to make this a weekly occurrence. I will post traumatic outfits and/or major make up disasters so, you can start your week off right. I will attempt to keep the hating to a minimum. What better way to start off this new found tradition then to allow Lindsay Lohan to be the first victim. Please refer to the picture above. I don't know whether I should blame this on excessive coke snorting or the lack thereof. She looks nuts. The extensions in her hair look ratty and she looks like she could use a scrub down. If only she wasn't wearing those heinous sunglasses, I could examine her face better and make fun of her awful attempt at putting on make up. On to the outfit...I had no idea Whitney Port gave Lindsay Lohan fashion advice. What is up with the onesies?! She looks like an over grown baby. Yuck, on Friday I was at Mendocino and the girl working there suggested something almost as hideous as this outfit and I nearly lost my lunch as well as the will to continue shopping. The only time something like this is acceptable is if you are 6 months old. Lindsay, get help!

Happy Monday ladies!

PS. Don't cry, the weekend is only 4 days away.

Do You Have A Shoe Obsession?

Today is a very lazy Sunday. I spent some of my morning and afternoon lying in bed, watching a marathon of Denise Richards: It's Complicated. I have never watched this show before, but I now have a new found respect for Denise Richards. I used to think she was trash, but not anymore. What I can say though is that, I will not be watching the show with my so-called fiance....who sat there and drooled over her the entire time...

Anyway, the woman has a very impressive closet! My heart stopped when I saw her shoe wall...incredible! What really caught my eye was how she organized each pair. She uses special shoe boxes by Closet Fetish. Each shoe box has a 4"x6" frame on the front where you can insert a picture of the shoe to make finding the perfect pair simple. The boxes come in beige, red, pink. lavender, light blue and chocolate brown. This is an excellent organization tool for you ladies that have a shoe obsession!!!

Madison the Great

Here are some pics from a shoot I did with a new model, Madison. She has pure, natural talent. It was one of her first photo shoots and she did an amazing job.

I kept the makeup simple to show off her natural features. I based most of the look around her amazing eyes. I used coppers, golds and smokey greys.

Month of the Gemini!

It is the month of the Gemini! As you may have guessed - I am a Gemini! My birthday is in June, but I am beginning my celebrations at the end of this month and I can not wait! Because the zodiac begins today, I thought I would blog about the Gemini characteristics. I am a true Gemini. Here are some of the things I found while researching my zodiac…

Gemini May 21 - June 21

Gemini Strengths:
Energetic
Clever
Imaginative
Witty
Adaptable
Gemini Weaknesses:
Superficial
Impulsive
Restless
Devious
Indecisive

The Good & Bad Side:
Gemini is a sign that is prone to extremes, with most expressing either the positive or the negative side of the Gemini persona. Those who express the ugly side of Gemini are unreliable, superficial, fickle, deceptive, flighty, whiny, self-absorbed and gossipy, while those who express the positive side are charming, generous, witty, logical, adaptable, talented, friendly, open-minded and playful. Whether the positive side or the negative side will be expressed depends on other elements in the zodiac, such as the ascendant and moon sign.

Gemini Women:
The Gemini woman is truly enchanting. However, dating her might feel more like a friendship then a real relationship due to her casual nature. This is not necessarily a disadvantage, for the casual man who shies away from overly romantic emotions, she is the perfect woman. Since she is the astrology sign of the duality, she offers quite the challenge. On one hand, she needs to be nurtured, loved and catered to and on the other hand, she needs stimulation and novelty. She is very demanding and if you do not provide what she wants, she will be off onto the next adventure pretty quickly. To keep her interested is a challenge, not completely impossible so she is the perfect woman for the man who likes stimulation and a challenge. She needs a partner with a quick mind, she tends to poke and prod at the emotions and the minds of those who are mentally slower then her, make sure you can keep up to her wit or you will briskly be left behind. She is prone to keeping men on a string, not completely heartlessly, she is evaluating if the man is worth her attention and her time she has no time to waste with a dull man. Once you have her approval, she can easily become jealous. The reason for her is jealousy is that if she is going to open up to a man, when she rarely completely opens up to anyone, she does not want to risk her being deceived or hurt. If you are with a Gemini woman and she becomes jealous, you are on the right track to true love! Gemini women are so exciting that they are worth the effort, you will remember her forever!

Best Matches: Aries, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Gemini
Worst Matches: Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo

Overview of the Gemini Personality:
Gemini people are many sided, quick both in the mind and physically. They are brimming with energy and vitality, they are clever with words. They are intelligent and very adaptable to every situation and every person. Gemini’s are curious and always want to know what's going on in the world around them. They are not one to sit back and watch the world go by, they want to be involved. This can sometimes make Gemini nosy; they do not mind their own business! This is because they really enjoy communicating, more so then most other astrology signs; they are the ultimate social butterfly. Gemini can talk and talk, but they have interesting things to say, their talk is not mindless babble. They have interesting opinions and thoughts on things and are not afraid to speak their mind. They are always in the know and are the one to see for the latest juicy gossip. Lacking perseverance, Gemini easily goes off topic to explore another thought or idea. Gemini are superficial, they will form opinions on matter without diving into them and exploring them fully. This can lead them into thinking they know everything, which they usually do but their mind is too busy to be concerned with fine details. Routine and boredom are Gemini's biggest fears. Gemini would rather be naive then know the depressing truth; they do not want anything putting a damper on their freedom or positive energy.

There it is...me in a nutshell!

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Make Up For Ever

I am very happy and excited to tell you guys that I have joined the wonderful team of Make Up For Ever!

Make Up For Ever is an amazing cosmetic line and one of my favorites. It was created in 1984 and its based out of Paris, France.

The line carries an amazing range of foundations, eye shadows, eye lashes, glitters and so much more.

Check out the Make Up For Ever website to see the full line http://www.makeupforever.com/#/int/en/

If you live in the lower mainland, come visit me at the counter at the Bay Downtown in Pacific Centre. Set up an appointment to get your makeup done with me!

Fashion Police: Whitney Port

What were you thinking?! This brings tears to my eyes. Whitney forgot to look at herself in the mirror after putting on this heinous get up. This is so wrong in so many ways. The colour washes her out. The fit is awful, it makes her look like her thighs are massive. Her hair is major blah. Her shoes on the other hand, are cute! This is my choice for hideous outfit for the week/today. Who knows, someone else may bring tears to my eyes tomorrow.

Primped & Proper Sins

I have decided to share what I believe is not Primped and Proper. All of these items on my list are basically things that drive me crazy....here it goes...

1. Dry Lips....Never ever go out with dry lips. No excuses! Every single girl should have some sort of moisturizing lip balm, lip gloss or lip stick with them at all times. Listen up Lauren Conrad...this one was for you....
2. Chipped nail polish....especially if you are going out on the town. Don't even think about leaving your house all glammed up with chipped nails. Take the colour off completely, or allocate some time to do your nails.
3. Denim on denim. I feel as though I don't need to explain why, you should already know all reasons why this is unacceptable, even if you work on a farm. If I see another person wearing denim on denim I will probably lose my mind.
4. Going out with stained clothing. Yuck. Not primped, not proper.
5. Your underwear showing, even your bra straps. Not hot.
6. Wearing open toe shoes without getting or giving yourself a pedicure. No excuses. If you don't have the time to get your nails done, don't wear open toe shoes. Thanks.
7. Faux blondes...strutting around with dark roots. Ladies, if you want to be blonde, you have to maintain your hair. Oh, and no blonde on top and brunette on the bottom. I remember a time when that was the cool thing to do, but that time has passed. Get over it. If you want to be blonde, be completely blonde. Above is a picture of Aubrey O'Day committing this terrible sin...tsk tsk...I think she needs to spend less time dealing with her puppy's hair and focusing on her own.
8. Wearing eye make up with no mascara...Just don't...it looks really bad. If you are going to do your eye make up, go all the way. Mascara is your friend.
9. Super tight clothing. Wear your size please. You will look and feel better.
10. Complete coordination...you don't have to match your shoes and your belt and your purse and your earrings. Yuck, mix it up. When I see girls doing this...I know they are trying way too hard.

DuWop Payoff - Eyeshadow Intensifier

Here's the perfect solution to getting that catwalk smokey eye look every time!! Many eyeshadows that look great in the packaging go on nothing like what we think they will & we end up with a washed out effect from what we wanted, well with this little wizard from Duwop all shadows whatever the price tag will go on just the way you want them to! Mix just one drop with any powder eyeshadow & it will turn into an intense cream eyeshadow that really lasts without creasing, it works by extracting the pigmented particles in the eyeshadow & bonding with them creating a more intensive colour. Apply with brush over the lids & blend well using soft circular motions. £18

Bird by Juicy Couture

I used to be obsessed with Juicy Couture! I loved everything from their jeans to their socks that are still living in my sock drawer practically new. Recently, Juicy Couture hasn't been the "it" line in fashion, but the ladies behind the brand are about to change that. Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor will soon be launching a pricier line called Bird by Juicy Couture. This collection will consist of thirty pieces that will be available Fall 2009 at select Juicy Couture stores and other specialty shops, such as Holt Renfrew, Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods and Net-A-Porter. The line will be priced from $150 - $600, and available for delivery five times a year. Above is a piece that will be included in their upcoming collection - I love it!. Thoughts?

Tracy Anderson Method Update

I know, I know...I am insanely late writing this post, but here it is. My verdict on the Tracy Anderson Method Mat Workout DVD is positive! She is a pint sized little genius. Her video engages you with seductive movements, masking the difficulty of the actual tasks. I thoroughly enjoyed her routine, although it was an hour long and I am the laziest person on the face of the earth. Her workout was perfect for me because it was not extremely difficult and I didn't feel like giving up half way. Also, she is against using weights over 3 pounds and I love her for that. Yuck, I don't want man arms! I did, however feel it the next day! If you are bored with your usual routine, Tracy Anderson is a great choice! Tracy Anderson Method will definitely be a part of my fitness schedule.

You now have more options for getting into great shape. Rather than purchasing one of her three DVDs, you can download webisodes available on Tracy Anderson Connect. Three webisodes are offered - arms, abs and butt/thighs. The great part is with each purchase you get an iPod version as well as one Hi-Res Quicktime version. Oh, and did I mention that 100% percent of the proceeds from all of the webisodes go to Raising Malawi? Not only will you be getting your butt into shape, you will also be helping orphans in Malawi.

Channel Four Extreme Male Beauty

The latest craze that is now sweeping the nation courtesy of Chanel Four is Extreme Male Beauty, we all know how our men have become a lot more in tune with their self image these days & many are very proud to be classified as 'metrosexual', but it seems that the quest for body-perfection is a pressing issue not just for women but also for many men... Next week on the show (Thursday 21/05) we see willing victim Rudi Fieldgrass having a new cult beauty procedure called Vaser Lipo & the treatment was carried out 6 weeks ago at a Kensington Spa 'EF MediSpa'. A new procedure Vaser Lipo, has only just recently come over from the states (don't they all!), it was developed by Sound Surgical Technology & is a process that uses a gentle ultrasound probe to emulsify and remove large or small areas of fat, leaving other tissue intact. This is why it has a much faster recovery time that traditional lipo, with much smoother results. Unlike lipo it can also be used on almost any body part (arms, chest, stomach, bottom, chin, etc) that needs fat removing from it! Sounds pretty good doesn't it, the faster, easier & as if by magic way to perfection - well almost! Anyway check out the before & afters below & watch out for it on Channel Four next Thursday!
