Fall Trend: Patterned & Textured Tights

Love!

Backstage at Milan Fashion Week with Sam McKnight (Global Ambassador for Pantene Pro-V)

The Look: "Glamping" - Glamorous Camping
The S/S ’10 DSquared2 collection was inspired by ‘grunge goes glam’. For this look think camping with ball gowns and tents with chandeliers.
For the hair, Sam McKnight captured this ‘grunge goes glam’ inspiration by creating a hair look that screamed ‘Day 3 at Glastonbury*’ - with not so neat, random braids. Keeping it loose and individual, the models wore sometimes one, sometimes two and sometimes three braids of varying thickness, texture and positioning on the head.

Get the Look:
Firstly work mousse through the lengths of the hair to add texture and hold - ensuring the braids don’t slip out. Then randomly divide hair into one, two or even three uneven sections. Plait each section into braids of varying thicknesses.

The key to the look is keeping the braid loose. To achieve this start braiding the section of hair part way down the hair length and secure at the ends with a clear ponytail band. Then to finish the look, run your fingers from the end of the braid upwards to create this loose, dishevelled appearance. To add further texture, work the braid between the fingers.

“To ensure this look is ‘grunge goes glam’ rather than plain ‘grunge’ make sure hair is in the best condition possible before and after styling. Use a shampoo and conditioning regime that will protect hair against mechanical damage caused by this kind of styling” Sam McKnight.

Just in time for Christmas, H&M has announced its latest designer collaboration: Sonia Rykiel for H&M. And for the first time, this collection will be lead by lingerie. The lingerie collection will launch in 1,500 H&M stores Dec. 5 and — another first — will be available in Sonia Rykiel boutiques around the world. The French house founded by the "Queen of Knits" will then release a second collection featuring an iconic knitwear collection for women and girls (1.5 to 8 years old) as well as playful accessories on Feb. 20, 2010.

BCFW Jaqueline Conoir

Last night was the first night of Spring 2010 BC Fashion Week. I attended the Jaqueline Conoir fashion show at Fortune Sound Club. It was a packed house. The collection was beautiful. Some of my favorite pieces were the beautiful multi-colored long dresses featured at the end of the show.

Below are a couple of shots from the show captured by photographer Ian Sheh http://www.iansheh.com/

MAC Cosmetics - Dsquared2

Every season the fashion crowd is up and on the run, crazy for the fierce and sexy fun we've come to expect from designers Dan and Dean Caten, the Canadian twins who know how to pack a punch - and throw a party! With their haute hi-jinx and body-beautiful clothes for boys and girls, a collaboration with MAC simply could NOT be avoided! "DSquared2 and MAC are on the same trip!" says Dan. This collection brings us to the Ziegfield Follies by way of Grey Gardens, a bit disheveled, a little Girl Interrupted, both dramatically hip and dangerously sexy. It starts with a strong, sooty, blackest-ever wild-child eye...a new Greasepaint Stick also in blue and violet versions, and Pro Gloss to create it. Neutral and perfected skin will get more drama with highlighting and low lighting from Sculpt and Shape Powders and the 165 Tapered Cheek/Highlight Brush all the better to achieve it. And finally, the totally nude Pro Lip Erase does its stuff, followed by a light Lipstick and Lip Conditioner to put the lilt and lift back in.... But the cynosure of this season's scintillating collaboration is the daring, dramatic slightly demented DSquared2 eye.

Lipsticks
Nude Rose - Light neutral pink (Lustre)
Blood Red - Clean deep berry (Lustre)

Lip Erase

A flesh-toned balm that visually neutralizes and erases natural colour from the lip. Shine- and texture-free.

Grease Paint Sticks

B - Bright blue violet
V - Bright yellow blue

Bone Beige/ Emphasize - Palest cream / Tan
Accentuate/Sculpt - Pale blushed beige / Soft taupey brown

Gloss Texture
Clear - A colour-free gel formulated for full-on shine, M·A·C Gloss adds polish, shine and highlights to bare or made-up skin. May be used on the face or any part of the body where shine is desired.

Tools:
#165 Brush - Medium-sized tapered brush with soft, natural bristles. Provides perfect application and blending of powder products. Can be used to highlight the cheeks or all over the face

Am I Wearing False Lashes - New L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara!!!

Here is the latest innovation from L'Oreal, the new Telescopic Explosion Mascara, not only does the innovation lie with the brush style but it is a new formula that is based on water & polymers as well as D-Pantenol which coat the mascara with an extra thick layer of mascara keeping the lashes stronger & more flexible. The ingredients add volume as well as shape to the lashes & the small globe brush makes it super easy to coat every lash right into the inner corners so even the hardest to reach lashes have an even coat from root to tip with no lumps which leaves an impressive panoramic effect. Anyway it's a firm favourite for me, even my husband noticed the difference after applying it for the first time, commenting on my false lashes...!!!! Of course I wasn't wearing any, so an impressive illusion!
Available Nationwide - £8.80.

Hot Mess Monday - Ashanti

Is it hot in here or is it just the hot mess I'm looking at? Ashanti is having an identity crisis. She apparently thinks she is Rihanna. Darling, get real. You look like crap. Rihanna wouldn't even look good in that.

Nice giant feather earring...no, I'm totally kidding...they are almost as hideous as your horrendous boots.
Honey, go home to Nelly before I throw up.
Happy Monday!

Look of the Week - Burberry show at London Fashion Week

Last Tuesday, Burberry showcased it's Spring/Summer 2010 collection as part of London Fashion week.

Celebrities and socialites always go to these shows and this one did not disappoint. Agnyess Dyne - probably one of the hottest models right now showed with a fresh new hair-do. Her style is amazing, she can make Anything look good!

And another one of my favorites - Posh Spice. She was a little bit more understated with a simple black Burberry dress - but still looked amazing!

Brand New - Cloud Nine Styling Irons!

Well we all thought we could never live with out our ghd's but now there's a new rival in the market that is set to be a best seller, the new hair styling iron brand Cloud Nine, which has just launched.

Developed by the original founders and manufacturers behind ghd, Cloud Nine is a totally new and separate brand that combines state of the art technology with temperature control, allowing you to create loose waves, soft curls, poker straight for those that still wish and even smooth a blow dry without losing volume.
Now that you can select a temperature that suits your individual hair type and without the searing heat of competitor irons, damage is reduced and the ceramic plates are also coated with a 'magic' ingredient that leaves your hair looking shiny and healthy, what more could a girl possibly ask for!!!
Also James Brown used Cloud Nines at London Fashion Week just last Saturday and was very impressed, and they're making their mark in the professional hair trade already.
Imagine… a hair styling iron that allows you to achieve breathtaking results - without constant, searing heat!!!!
From natural and smooth, to experimental and bold, you can now get the hair you want, everyday, no matter what its type, your challenges or your hair-aspirations.
With its low, medium and high heat options, six in total, and a perfectly constructed, rounded barrel, Cloud Nine is one tool that enables you to achieve a whole range of finishes. You can create natural curls and waves, or even simply smooth a blow dry, as well as crank up the heat when you do need to achieve something more structured or adventurous.
The varied heat settings also mean you can adjust the temperature to suit your hair type. Finer hair may not require white-hot temperatures to smooth out a kink, while thicker hair can benefit from a variety of heat settings as you style layer-by-layer.
Poker straight hair delivered through searing heat, and the same look day-in, day-out, is over.

With Cloud Nine, you can, at last, go a bit easier on your hair, while discovering a whole world of flexibility. Curly, wavy, straight or voluminous - you choose.
Look closely at the iron’s black ceramic plates, and you will see they contain an element of pearl sparkle. This patented technological element actually adds extra shine to your hair.
The iron also features a hibernation mode. So if you don’t pick up your irons for ten minutes, it automatically switches off, and will only re-heat when you switch it on again.

Cloud Nine is set to take you and your hair to new heights from October ’09. The professional styling brand is now available from the finest salons nationwide, priced at £129.99. Cloud Nine is also available to buy at www.cloudninehair.com from the end of October.

Fabulous Friday - Victoria Beckham

Darling, you have redeemed yourself. I can not express how much I love this dress. It is simply stunning. Proving that she is her own best model, Victoria Beckham rocked the Burberry Prorsum runway show at London Fashion Week in this stunning dress from her own collection.

I loved the exposed zipper at the back and the fact that she wore it with fabulous YSL patent pumps. This is immaculate.

Happy Friday!

My glasses :3

Hello Everybody!
I think I haven't shown you me with my black glasses yet.

And me without glasses. But my eyesight is not very well. Right eye: -2, left eye: -0,5.
I've tried lenses, now I can put and take off them, but my eyes don't feel comfortable in them.
I used lenses for 1 month, but I should try with 2 weeks or daily lenses. Dunno~ >.<

Oh, I am still thinking about my future. I wanna be an actress so so so much...
I recorded tv serie on Monday and Wednesday. Next Monday I am recording too.
But it is not a very big role, maybe just an episode.
I want to get a main role (but who doesn't want to~ haha).

Another thing...
Sometimes I think that people don't care about me and it makes me very sad. I do my best to make many friends. I'm friendly, open-minded and talkative. Maybe it's not enough.
Maybe I should change inside...I will think about it. Do you have any ideas?

I like this song.

Ok, I have to go now! See ya!

Currently Inspired By: Keri Hilson Number One video

I'm lovin Keri Hilson's new video with R Kelly. I think she has great style and she totally makes me want to cut my hair short!

I love the makeup looks in this video. She does 3 different looks:

1. First look is a beautiful nude palette. She uses neutral nude colors on her eyes, lips and cheeks. With a look like this high-lighting and contouring is very important. Adding hints of shimmer in key areas like above your cheek bones and down the bridge of your nose can really make this look pop.

2. Her second look is a dark smokey eye. She plays off her outfit which has hints of navy blue (her tube top) and uses the same navy colors for the smokey eye.

3. The last look is all about her hot pink lips. Her outfit is black and white so adding a pop of color in her makeup is a perfect combination. She used very light gray shadows on her eyes but the main focus is the bright hot pink lipstick.

Chanel Winter Collection: Noirs Obscurs

Chanel will release the limited-edition Noirs Obscurs Collection in October. It is a tribute to the mysterious sophistication yet classic, understated elegance of dark black beloved by Coco Chanel.
The Noirs Obscurs Collection includes:
Quator Boutons de Chanel in Les Folies Noires: in deep green, mahogany, midnight blue and dark violet
Exceptionnel de Chanel: Noir Obscur
Inimitable: Noir Obscur
Le Crayon Yeux: Demoniac
Rouge Allure: Obscure, Maniac and Hysteria
Aqualumiere Gloss: Furious
Le Vernis: Diabolic, Forbidden and Vendetta
This collection is beautiful. I love the dark shades of polish. Chanel never fails.

Fall Beauty Trend: Jade Nails

I'm sure you spotted this trend on the runways and red carpets at New York Fashion week, as well as London Fashion week. This is definitely a big fall trend – jade nails. Let’s get it right – JADE nails, not forest green or neon green. It is all about minty jade shades. Where did this trend even begin, you ask? It all started on the Chanel catwalk. Peter Phillips, The Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup created it for a one-off F/W ’09 show. So many beauty junkies and fashion fanatics loved Le Vernis Nail Color in Jade (shown above in pic) so much that it is now available for retail. Of course it may be next to impossible for you to snag your very own bottle of the limited edition said nail colour, you can opt for other brand such as OPI Matte Nail Polish in Gargantuan Green Grape or Illasmasqua Nail Vernish in Milf.

Backstage at London Fashion Week with Barbara Daly Make-Up & Amanda Wakeley!

EyeCandy have been prive to some great backstage insight into this season's London Fashion Week, check out some of the latest looks sported on the runway this week!
Barbara Daly make-up was delighted to collaborate with renowned women’s wear designer, Amanda Wakeley, at London Fashion Week 2009 at her show on Tuesday 22nd September 2009.
Leading make-up artist Sharon Dowsett used Barbara Daly make-up to create a beautifully dramatic look that took inspiration from an Indian Summer (a nod to the numerous spicy tones and luxurious silky drapery used in Amanda’s palette); a neutral dewy base set off striking smoky eyes and defined eyebrows which was paired with a warm nude lip and cool nude nails.
Sharon Dowsett commented:
“I am delighted to be collaborating with Barbara Daly make-up – the products are fantastic, particularly Face Lift, the Eye Pencils and High Impact Mascara, they have helped me to create a beautiful look for today’s show.”

The Look – How it was Created:

The Base -

Sharon Dowsett started the look with a slick of Face Lift to give the model’s skin a beautifully luminous, dewy appearance (the use of this product was a personal tip off from Amanda Wakeley herself), she then progressed to prep the skin with Moisture Foundation and Concealer (depending on the coverage needed for the individual model). Cheek-to-cheek Bronzer was then used to highlight the cheek bone and shade underneath (using the two shades in the bronzer). Once the base was finished with a sweep of the Super Sheer Loose Powder, Sharon and her eight strong team started on the smoky eye.

The Eye -

Eye Pencil in Dark Brown was used to contour the eye around the upper and lower lashes and out into the inner and outer corner of the eye, Eye Shadow in Smoke and the Designer Eyes Trio in Graphite was then used to shade the eye socket with a clear space left between the socket and the brow. The eye was finished off with two coats of High Impact Mascara in black (which the models loved and begged the make-up team to let them keep). Strong brows were created using the Eye Brow Pencil in Fair or Dark (depending on the model’s colouring) and finished with a slick of Smudge-Proof Mascara in Brown (the moussy texture was perfect for this purpose).

The Lip -

Nude lips were created with the Lip Pencil in Fig contouring the lip followed by Lipstick in Naturelle filling in the rest of the lip.

The Nails -

Nail technician Liza Smith and team used a cocktail of Barbara Daly make-up nail colours (a mix of Whimsy – a stone colour, Sweetie – a pinky neutral, Tattoo – a deep navy blue and Clear Top Coat) to create a bespoke cool neutral to paint the model’s finger and toe nails that perfectly complemented the make-up and Amanda’s collection.

The Barbara Daly make-up products used to create the look are as follows:

Base:

Face Life Moisturiser (used as foundation on most models to create dewy skin)
Moisture Foundation
Cheek-to-Cheek Bronzer

Smoky Eye:

Eye Shadow – Smoke
Designer Eyes Trio – Graphite
Eye Pencil – Dark Brown and Black
Eye Define – Brown
Light Effect Concealer Pen
High Impact Mascara – Black

Strong Eyebrows:

Smudge-proof Mascara – Brown (Sharon recommends that the moussey texture makes it great for eyebrows)
Eye Brow Pencil – Light and dark

Nude Lips:

Lip Pencil – Fig
Lipstick – Naturelle

Nude Nails:

Nail Colour (a cocktail of Whimsy, Sweetie, Tattoo and Clear Top Coat)

Backstage at London Fashion Week with Sam McKnight, Global Ambassador for Pantene Pro-V, Creating the Hair Look for Graeme Black S/S ‘10

The Look: Indian Princess ‘Pin Up’
The S/S ’10 Graeme Black collection was influenced by India & the Raj. So when creating the hair look for the show Sam McKnight took inspiration from a mythical Indian Lady in the 1930s – elegant and graceful.
The hair was swept back from the face giving it a clean look at the front, which contrasted beautifully with the slightly less groomed ‘Indian Pin-Up’ at the back of the head. This high bun formed from a ponytail that wound round on itself presented the perfect elegant silhouette. The overall effect was extremely feminine and sensual giving an illusion of groomed perfection.

Get the Look:
Work mousse through the hair from root to tip and dry roughly. Set into large, loose waves using a large barrel curling tongs. Next brush the hair into a clean ponytail high on the crown of the head. Smooth down the hair from the hairline to the ponytail band by brushing over. Then backcomb sections of ponytail close to the base of each section to add volume. Brush over the ponytail to lightly smooth then loop up the ends and pin to secure into a volumised, loose bun. To create Sam's signature 'done, undone' effect, leave some stray tendrils loose. Then add a spritz of hairspray to hold the look.
“The key to the look I created for the Graeme Black show is having hair that is shiny and manageable to give the appearance of elegance whilst still looking undone. But styling can take its toll on hair – so if you want to make the most of this look you need to shampoo and condition your hair from root to tip every to help combat styling damage.” Sam McKnight, Global Ambassador for Pantene Pro-V

Products:
New Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Conditioner RRP £2.19
Gives the results you’d expect from an intensive treatment – it helps prevent frizz, reduces damage and makes hair more manageable and easier to style without weighing it down.
Pantene Pro-V Volume & Body Shampoo RRP £2.19 and Conditioner RRP £2.19
Luxurious volume needs more than the right styling products & tools – what it needs most is the right shampoo & conditioner that will protect hair without weighing it down.
Pantene Pro-V Volume & Body Magnifying Mousse RRP £2.99.
By their very nature, mousses are often the top choice when you want that elusive 'root-lift' essential for any true volumised style. This mousse will give your hair hold while also helping to protect it from the woes of styling.
Pantene Pro-V Volume & Body Magnifying Hairspray RRP £2.99.
This flexible-hold hairspray gives the perfect finish to any volumised style. Pantene Pro-V’s micro-fine spray system the product gives your hair the increased freedom to move, without sacrificing the healthy looking volume. You now have permission to spray and sway!
