Cat Deeley Announced As New Face Of Pantene Pro-V

Pantene Pro-V were excited this week to announce Cat Deeley as the new face of the brand. Her work with the brand will kick off with Cat as the face and hair of the new Aqua Light Make a Swisssh campaign launching on the 1st August.
Over the next 6 months Cat will be calling on British women to swish their hair to celebrate how great it can look.
This will culminate in a world record breaking swish in December at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham where Cat was discovered.
Why Cat? A spokesperson from Pantene said; “Cat Deeley is the ultimate Pantene Pro-V girl, she has natural beauty, and healthy looking, gorgeous hair. Her genuine likeability and infectious charisma have led to her being adored in the UK and now also the US. For us she was the obvious choice to lead the Make A Swisssh movement behind this campaign.”
Excited about her new role Cat said: “Has your hair ever felt so good you can’t help but swish it? - you know that elusive ‘swish’, when hair moves perfectly. It’s that beautiful, healthy looking, enviable hair that we all want – that’s what you get with new Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light.” Cat Deeley

Sweat Proof/ Water Proof

Don't Sweat It...please!!!
Let's be honest ladies, most of us don't want to leave home without the extra coverage, or safety, of a foundation. Something to even out your skin making it look effortlessly and beautifully smooth and silky. But in the beautiful yet rather warm summertime, because of the humidity and high temperatures, the foundation does not really last and it just feels heavy. I want to sweat just thinking about my skin gasping for air through a thick layer of makeup on my face when it's hot outside. I just received a text this morning from my friend Summer at Tres Chic Boutique wondering about waterproof/sweat proof makeup. She was going to be going to a youth camp out and wanted to be ready. Could I EVER relate. I had gone to a young women's camp as a counselor during that awful breakout just about a month ago. So fun but didn't want to go anywhere without makeup....which I hated because had I not had that reaction I would have gone the whole week makeup and carefree. Alas that wasn't on the menu so I had to switch up the routine a bit. Here are some of the things that I have learned through the years..I gotcha covered =) ( pun intended). Feel free to click on any of the links for suggestions on products described.
For Starters:
Wear a primer. Should I repeat? WEAR A PRIMER! Don't skip this cuz it makes a big difference!!! Choose a lightweight, oil-free formula and apply after your moisturizer and/or sunscreen and before the rest of your makeup. A pea-size amount should be enough (don't get crazy). This step is essential for your foundation and color to last all day.

Concealer:

Less is more when it comes to makeup in the summer but if you feel you need coverage, like I did and occasionally still do, be picky!!! Choose a sheer silicone-based formula for your concealer because it acts as a barrier from humidity. Avoid liquids as much as possible, choose a cream concealer and spot treat dark circles and blemishes using your ring finger to pat and blend the color onto skin. To avoid a shiny complexion make sure and look for oil-free products always, summer or not.
So Many Choices:
Makeup has come a looong way from one general formula for the entire face. Thanks to stains, tints, gels, balms, and creams designed for the lips, eyes, and cheeks you can achieve the look you want with the same color pay off and even better staying power. Not to mention a lovely sheen finish that will give your skin that coveted glow. These formulas work wonders in the summer and are great alternatives to powder because they won’t mix with sweat, smear, or run. Avoid kohl liners that will smear, powder blush that will fade, and chalky powders that will cake when you sweat. But if you tend to be oily and need the security of a powder, choose a talc-free
translucent formula and apply lightly with a large fluffy brush to the t-zone. The talc-free, color-free formula stops shine and sets makeup with out appearing dry or changing colors.

Water-proof=Melt-proof:

Don’t underestimate the power of water-proof mascara and eyeliner. It’s great for daily use when you need to go from work to dinner to a night out and there’s no exception when it comes to swimming, sweating, or working out. Choose a water-proof mascara with a creamy, smudge-resistant formula that won’t flake off or make lashes brittle. As for eyeliner go with a smooth, smudge-proof gel formula that glides on easily, sets quickly and lasts all day. These two products, which come in tons of different colors, are enough to play up the eyes so it can cut your makeup time in half by not having to do shadows.

Don’t leave home without it:

*Sunscreen. It’s so important to start the day off with sunscreen for several reasons. Sunscreen (choose a broad spectrum one that protects against both UVB and UVA rays) is the best way to prevent skin from aging, wrinkles and sunspots caused by UVA rays, how could we pass on that?? Along with ranging in SPF (15-70) there are formulas that include antioxidants that work double-time by protecting from free radicals and UV damage, while others come in a wipe form that make it quick and easy to freshen up as it protects. Luckily most are designed with different skin types in mind (from acne-prone, sensitive, to normal, and oily) so there’s no excuse, girls! In the past it was hard to reach for the sunscreen because of its tell-tale smell and the way it felt on the skin but now most formulas on the market are so lightweight and fresh smelling that you won’t even know it’s there.

*Oil-absorbing sheets. These thin little papers absorb surface oil without smudging makeup, rendering the mid-day compact touch up useless and avoiding all that product build-up, yuck.

*Tinted lip balm with SPF. Choose your favorite color in a wax formula to avoid it melting on your lips. I love the ones from MAC.

Smokey Arabic Tutorial

DUO Glue Review

Been along time coming but here are my thoughts on the glue that "everyone" says to use.

Top Eyeliner Tip!

For striking glamorous Saturday night eyes, here's a little tip I picked up for defining your top lash line to give extra depth to make you eyes really stand out!
First of all take a flat defining brush, try Mac's 212 Flat Definer (£15), then take your black eyeshadow or another dark colour for defining & wet your brush, then add the shadow. Apply to the under part of your lash line, to do this look upwards & the part of the lash line that sits under your lashes is the area you want to aply the colour. Just take it in small blocks from the inside to the lashes & apply three quarters away along from the outer edge of the eye. This will give more defintion to your lashes as well as the shape of your eye. Once this is applied, define above the lashes on the top lashline with a dry brush to create a smokey finish or pencil/liquid, what ever you prefer, defining the under part of you top lashes will always enhance your normal eyeliner. The perfect start to smouldering eyes!!

I'm addicted to japanese dorama!

Hello Everybody!
How have you been?

I'm fine, although I did something again to my neck. It hurts.

Okay, but this post will be about dramas. I totally love them! ^^

Recently I watched Sunao ni narenakute and Love Shuffle.

Sunao ni narenakute

It's a really good drama about 5 people with different problems.
Of course it's also a great love story.
Cast: Eita, Ueno Juri, Seki Megumi, Tamayama Tetsuji and Hero Jaejoong
Ueno Juri and Eita are my favourite actors, do I think that I don't have to say that I fell in love with this drama. I recommend it to you!
The song 'Sunao ni narenakute' by Sugawara Sayuri is amazing...
All soundtrack is nice! You can find the songs by Stereophonics and The Ting Tings.

Love Shuffle
Another amazing drama with great cast!
Cast: Hiroshi Tamaki, Matsuda Shota, Karina, DAIGO, Yoshitaka Yuriko, Kojima Hijiri, Kanjiya Shihori, Tanihara Shosuke
I think that everybody likes Hirohi Tamaki. I'm sure that you will like this drama!
It was my first drama with Yoshitaka Yuriko and I have to say that she is totally gorgeous and now I'm her fan (even though she doesn't speak much in Love Shuffle). I'll watch the movie with her soon!

Snakes and earrings
This is a movie based on a book with the same title. I was surprised when I found it!
I read this book like month ago? And now I'm gonna watch it!

Today I watched the 1st episode of Tsuki no Koibito. I think that I will like this drama!

Tsuki no koibito
I'm not the fan of Kimura Takuya, but in this drama also plays Matsuda Shota and I think that he's very talented.
Female actresses are really gorgeous, especially Keiko Kitagawa and Shinohara Ryoko.
I've seen Buzzer Beat with Keiko and Anego with Ryoko, I realle enjoyed it! :)

Okay! I will write more soon. Now I'm gonna watch that movie.
Tell me your favourite dramas please :)
See ya!

The women of Juarez need your help...

The more I think about it, the more it upsets me. I am not sure how MAC let this happen. It actually makes me so sad to think that I company and brand that I support so much would allow for something like this. I appreciate their efforts in trying to rectify this situation, but let us face it $100, 000 is not enough.

Fellow blogger, Rebecca from Le Salon de Beaute has started a petition that I fully support. Let us push this and hope for a long-term commitment to help the women in Juarez. You can visit and sign the petition here.

Thank you so much for your help...

Fishtail Braid How - to

During the week, I usually do not bother blow drying or straightening my hair. I end up putting it in a bun or doing a side braid. Tonight for the very first time, I decided to try a fishtail braid. I love the way it looks and it's actually not as difficult as it seems. Here is the tutorial I used...

Get That Perfect Glowing Summer Complexion!

Get sun-kissed & summer-glow gorgeous this summer with these few simple make-up tips! Make-up for the summer should be natural & minimal giving the effect of a healthy bronzed complexion, keeping it on a minimal scale also makes this perfect for even the fairest of skin tones as well, so everybody can have glowing summer skin that even girl of the week, Jennifer Aniston would be envious of!
First step is to use a tinted moisturiser, normal liquid foundation is too heavy for this as a very sheer coverage is required to keep it natural, go for a shade darker than you would normally opt for in a foundation, as you can go a little darker with such a light coverage, apply a very light amount all over the face & blend well with a make-up sponge, make sure you blend throughly around the jaw line & lightly down on to the neck. If you have any blemishes apply a little concealer over the top of your tinted moisturiser (making sure the colour matches), again blend well & use a concealer brush for a perfect finish.
Next take a golden skin highlighter liquid & blend over the top of your cheek bones where the sun would normally catch, then use a bronzer & brush over the cheek bones as well as the forehead area & blend throughly along the jawline too. When choosing a bronzer it is best to go with a shimmer brick that has a combination of bronzes, golds & warm pinks as it will give a more natural colour, remember we want 'golden' not 'burnt orange'!
For the eyes just go with a light golden wash of colour, choose a loose powder in light gold or a warm nude for a natural look & blend over the lid & into the socket line then take a light golden highlighter just under the brow bone, finish them off with your favourite mascara.
For the lips stay with a gloss, opt for a tinted lip-balm to keep them soft & keep the colour to either a light beige or gold. As a finishing touch take some bronzer over your collar bone & chest area for some added bronze sparkle!
To keep everything in place & hold your natural summer look use some finishing spray. We want to keep everything dewy and finishing powder is too heavy & matte, so go for Skindinavia's Make-Up Finishing Spray. It keeps the makeup hydrated & holds it firmly in place all day long!!

Jennifer Aniston Launches New Fragrance At Harrods

Jennifer Aniston's appearance at Harrods today was widely anticipated as she launched her first fragrance at the department store earlier this afternoon. She looked stunning in a nude-tone figure hugging dress showing off her ever-perfect golden tan & her glowing skin was looking that of a young woman in her twenties (just how does she do it!!!???)
For the fragrance marketing campaign Jennifer posed provocatively, but as always tastefully, showing just enough of her perfectly toned figure to seduce us all into lusting after the new scent! Which I'm sure will work as the fragrance is set to be a huge success this year! The fragrance was originally said to be called 'Lolavie' but the makers were concerned the name could possibly create too much scrutiny on it's meaning so at the 11th hour is was changed to simply 'Jennifer Aniston - The Debut Fragrance'.
Greeting her fans that turned up to the launch Jennifer explained ''Now I am not a big perfume-y fragrance fan. With my fragrance I want people to go, ‘What is that? You smell great!’ But most of all I wanted it to smell natural.' She also spoke about some of the fragrance inspiration she grew up with 'The first perfumes I ever wore were Miss Dior and Anais Anais. 'My mother wore Calèche and my grandmother used a body splash that came in a big yellow jug that she kept by the bathtub. Those were very strong scents.'
Aniston also recalled the first perfumes she smelled growing up, adding: 'The first perfumes I ever wore were Miss Dior and Anais Anais.
'My mother wore Calèche and my grandmother used a body splash that came in a big yellow jug that she kept by the bathtub. Those were very strong scents.

Choosing The Perfect Fragrance For Your Big Day!

Another very important accessory that shouldn't be over looked on your big day is your choice of perfume, our sense of smell is one of our strongest senses especially when it comes to reminding us of happy memories! The one you choose will always remind you of your wedding day & can be saved for special occasions, I wore Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel & the second I catch a scent of it I instantly think of my wedding..
Fragrance is of course a very personal thing & you want it to reflect your personality, top fragrance experts advise that when shopping for your perfume don't try more than 3 or 4 on any one shopping trip as you can over load your senses! Also leave the scent on for an hour as well before you finally decide as many need time to 'settle' on your skin to develop their full aroma! To keep the scent lasting longer buy the body lotion as well & apply it after your bath/shower in the morning to intensify the fragrance, also it'll keep your skin perfectly soft in your expensive couture! Needless to say one of the top selling fragrances for blushing brides is Vera Wang which is a classic by the first lady of wedding style!

MAC Cosmetics: Rodarte Collection Controversy

For those of you who are unaware, MAC's highly anticpiated Rodarte collection has created a great deal of controversy. Inspired by a Jaurez, Mexico - an impoverished factory town in the country that not only has the highest murder rate in the world, but is home to women who regularly disappear, only to be found raped and/or murdered and their bodies dumped on the streets. Some of these ‘women’, by the way, are as young as 12, and the police are doing little or nothing to investigate such crimes – the new Mac Rodarte collection boasts names like ‘Juraez’, ‘Ghost Town’ and ‘Factory’, alongside a campaign that appears to depict dripping blood.

Here is MAC's offical...

STATEMENT FROM M•A•C COSMETICS ON THE M•A•C RODARTE COLLECTION
We understand that product names in the M•A•C Rodarte collection have offended our consumers and fans. This was never our intent and we are very sorry. We continue to listen carefully to the comments we have received and have the following plans to address concerns:

We are committed to donating $100,000 to a non-profit organization that has a proven, successful track-record helping women in need and that can directly improve the lives of women in Juarez in a meaningful way.
We are changing the product names in the M•A•C Rodarte collection.

As we have done in the past, please be assured that we will communicate details regarding our progress in this matter.

STATEMENT FROM RODARTE ON THE M•A•C RODARTE COLLECTION
We recognize that the violence against women taking place in Juarez needs to be met with proactive action. We never intended to make light of this serious issue and we are truly sorry.
Helping to improve the conditions for women in Juarez is a priority for us and we are thankful for all the comments calling attention to the urgency of addressing this situation.

I love MAC, but honestly this is extremely upsetting. I will not be purchasing anything from this collection, even with the name changes and I truly hope that something like this never happens again. I do, however, feel that they are taking the best steps to fix the situation.
