Smile to Success & Top Celebrity Make-Up Tips!
Collecting her trophy at this year’s Glamour Awards the nation’s favourite singer and XFactor judge, Cheryl Cole thanked her orthodontist, crediting him for her knock out smile and the role its played in her climb to the top of the charts.
New research released today by the makers of INVISALIGN®* reveals that 69% of Brits agree a quality smile is key to success in your working life. The following high-flying women also have a lot to thank their great smiles and dentists for.
Make-up artist and beauty coach to the stars Lina Cameron has worked with many of the women above and shares her insider tips on how to achieve the perfect smile to help propel you to that next high point in your career.
“Your smile is an introduction to your personality and having straight white teeth is critical to having the confidence to smile broadly. I recommend the Invisalign treatment to any of my clients who are conscious of their teeth. It is a virtually invisible straightening treatment which is perfect for my clients who won’t consider traditional fixed brace techniques which only draw attention to the problem in the first place. With a dazzling smile your makeup possibilities become endless!”
Get Scarlett’s luscious Lips
I love working on Scarlett as she simply has the best modern face for make-up - she can carry any look with glamour and ease! The look is very old school glamour with a splash of innocence especially when sporting a swept up hairstyle. A bee stung pout really helps but if you are not blessed with such full lips, try out a lip plumping product then really lather the gloss on top as you want lots of shine, pick a pink or red for a look just like Scarlett’s.
Perfect your smile
I often see some of my celebrity clients taking drastic measures to get the perfect smile but my motto is to work with what you have. Veneers for example can be a very painful and evasive procedure. In some cases they can give a real horsey appearance and everyone ends up looking the same. To enhance your smile I recommend a virtually invisible straightening techniques such as Invisalign, to deliver a red carpet worthy smile without anyone knowing your undergoing treatment. The aligners do not affect your lifestyle and are also completely removable, allowing you to take them out for special occasions.
Copy Jennifer’s effortless look
Jen is the archetypal Californian girl and looks fabulous with a sun kissed and relaxed make-up look. She knows her style and works it beautifully for all occasions. Think earth tones for the eyes, lots of brown liner, neat brows and beiges with a touch of shimmer to catch the light beautifully. Make sure you use a specific face self tan and make sure you self tan for body is golden not orange otherwise you will fail the look. Her smile is picture perfect and a great example of how investing in your teeth can set off your whole face.
Mask stains
My top tip for discoloured teeth is to use a nude lipstick or gloss, it’s always a safe bet as it neutralises the mouth and smile unlike yellow based pigments found in many pink lipsticks. If the stains are very noticeable I will also dramatically define the eyes to draw attention away from the mouth and contour the cheeks so people will be directed to the top half of the face.

Invisalign Background
Invisalign is a clinically recognised, virtually invisible orthodontic treatment that can straighten teeth in both adults and teens, and doesn’t involve painful surgery or the embarrassment and inconvenience of traditional fixed braces.
Whether you need minor improvements or more extensive adjustments, the series of clear, custom-made and removable aligners can successfully straighten your teeth by applying doctor-prescribed pressure on different teeth at different times.
Each aligner in the series is manufactured specifically for your teeth, and as you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner. With no metal wires or brackets, there’s no need to worry about mouth irritations, as the aligners are comfortable to wear and can be easily removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing as normal – giving you the flexibility to easily live an active lifestyle.
Unlike other dental straightening techniques, Invisalign uses unique computer software which generates a start-to-finish virtual 3D treatment plan to complement professional judgment. This technology demonstrates the series of movements the teeth are expected to go through to get from their current position to the desired final position. This allows you to view your own virtual plan and see how straight your smile should look once the treatment has been completed.
