Riccardo Tisci/Givenchy Couture Fall2010: In McQueen's Soul

Skulls and angel wings appeared as embellishments in his heavily embroidered lace appliqued on tulle.Riccardo Tisci's Givenchy Fall Couture 2010 recreated the playfulness of McQueen to the morbidity of skulls, skeletons and deaths.

Though Tisci said that  his Collection is inspired from the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, similarities run high,  the continuous exploration of death and beyond , gathered style bones and faced it. It was  obsessions that Riccardo Tisci's works figuratively manifests, the long battle of Kahlo's spinal pain, the human anatomy and the bones made up his collection.

Tisci's  elaborately ornamented silhouettes ranges from white to flesh colour palettes with gold and chocolate brown as the accent colors. Ostrich feathers cut the the decorated top and filled the skirt in dergrade.Swarovski crystal and elements with  pearls were lavishly dashed from the bodice till down the thighs. As a result the dress is too  heavy and Kahlo's pain somewhat being shared to the lucky one who wears it. ...Cheers!!!!!
