The Swarovski Elements: Jowaher-Glittering Nite
The event was expectedly a star-studded extravaganza, literally.
XVA Gallery, my favorite Shangrila for the arts was perfectly stupendous setting for an ambiance show.
The Stylemonger
The Moorish architecture and Arabic folkloric structure added the luxury of the Swarovski crystallized display.Set inside the inner expansive courtyard, the spectacularly ornate creations made the event undoubtedly grand, beneath shimmering textures and regalia.
Glitterati
The evening showcased the most exquisite and exclusive fashion merchandise. This time, couture extended beyond sartorial boundaries and stiletto-ed into the glittering world of designers' jeweleries, accessories, shoes, interiors and lamps. The "force de femme" of Swarovski treasures -- brillants and diamants that glowed like planets, shimmering crystals cascading like falling stars and other Swarovski components that glittered in the romantic and mystical night...stunning indeed.
Arabic designers in the region unveiled their line of jewellery along with the collection of ensembles. Encrusted with stones, bags were created elegantly, then there were the body of rocks, the hanging chandeliers with full Swarovski crystals in every shape...so dazzling that I wanted to take them home!
The dashing Managing Director of Swarovski Middle East, Monsieur WARNER BAUMGARTER's devotion to diamantes earned him a collaborative venture with TOP ARABIC DESIGNERS alongside bejeweled abaya couture and accessories.

The Modern Abayas
The abaya is a long overgarment essentially a robe-like dress, worn by middle eastern women.
Traditional abayas are black and may be either a large square of fabric draped from the shoulders or head or a long caftan.
Abayas are known by various names but serve the same purpose, which is to cover. Contemporary designs are usually caftans, cut from light flowing fabrics like crepe, georgette and chiffon. Styles differ from region to region: some abayas have embroideries on black material while others are brightly coloured and have different forms of artworks.
Participating labels for the Abaya Show: Sohad Acouri, Nariman, Burj Al Ali, Kyles Collection, Kanzi, Hanayen, Sweet Lady, First Choice House, First Lady, Bukanan and Zumorrod.
Ranging from intricate to bold ensembles, the traditional abayas oozed luxury when embellished with Swarovski components.. Wispy chiffon and georgettes were deliciously splurged with glitters to heighten fantasies, with rich silk taffeta and heavy satin added subtle magnificence. Chantilly lace made many an ethereal appearance, overall.... no matter what texture or fiber, Swarovski diamantes reigned supreme!!!
