DAWID TOMASZEWSKI: Women In Mind-Berlin Fashion Week S/S 2011

David Tomaszewski's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection was inspired by the great artist Richard Serra. The fascination lead the designer to New York, Spain and Rome, where he saw the enchanting Guggenheim Museum, and few inspirational yet eccentric artworks.

His architectural sculptures require a large amount of skill to make his works look like no one else's. The way he uses hard materials and makes them appear so soft, enthralled Tomaszewski.

The most fascinating work of art he created was the “Torqued Ellipses” series. Apparently, it was made up of crude surfaces shaped in twisted ovals. Materials which offer no resistance are swayed by the forms, but they change at every step.

Dawid Tomaszewski founded his eponymous label in Berlin in 2009. His passion for art and architecture is the source of inspiration for his exceptional and vanguard designs. Dawid Tomaszewski is only using materials of highest quality. The strict focus on excellence made his dresses an absolute must-have.

With a unique mix of purism and extravagance Dawid Tomaszewski is defining a “new couture” combining this with the glamour of the most dazzling eras. His provocative but always beautiful designs give women the opportunity to express their desire for luxury.
