Leviste: A Breath of Fresh Paint
While others struggle for their artistic egos here and there, comes the accomplished persona whose works entice and generate conversation.
Larry Leviste is one artist who displays commendable maturity and continues to metamorphs his innate unquestionable talents. His paintings in watercolor, filtered his thoughts, emotions and visions. Layering colour upon flat colour in meditative mode, he seems to be in search of a spiritual balance...reclusive, deep and tightly guarded.
Using the head as a starting point, Leviste explores colour, form and texture. Constructed with thin layers of fluid techniques, which get denser as it forms shapes that are sometimes abstract, sometimes representational, its images are founded on a play of angst that lurks within.
His appetite for life is immense, understandable when you discover, these creative pursuits have coalesced into the one occupation that gives him great satisfaction, a world where he is at peace with....painting.
