Dyed-on-the-wool lover of the red carpet-ELIE SAAB proved once again that his steadfastness on resplendent gowns with the ever- body- hugging- shapes and lots of embellished sequins are after all, what fashion is about. Critics labeled his works boring, bland and static, but who cares, anyway. Celebrities and divas are queuing at his maison...and it is now clear, that it would be very impossible to imagine the red carpet without him.
And for his Spring/Summer 2012, he just repeat once again his previous collections: belted sheath dresses for daywear and sequin dipped with voluminous chiffons for evening wear. Mustard yellow, emerald green and dark blue were his palette, sure......it was beautiful. Saab never bragged himself as a "avant garde" designer, and it's absolutely besides the point..he is successful, and maybe that's it, an ELIE SAAB look of classic, timeless glamour with a dash of Hollywood chic.
.......after all, everybody would die in surprise if his collection catches us in surprise!!!!!!!!!
