Manish Arora, the Delhi -based fashion designer did an astonishing debut as the new creative director at Paco Rabanne's Spring/Summer 2012 last Tueday in Paris. The iconic brand was brought back to life in the fashion stratosphere with Arora's new futuristic designs that were outrageous yet adorable. Dresses were shimmering with colors and shining from the depths of their silvered surfaces as Arora brought Paco Rabanne from 60's to the 21st century.
As the models descended from metallic elevators, Manish Arora began to take over and was in full control. His spikey dresses made from fiber optics, winged shoulder dresses clearly manifested the new Paco Rabanne's future visions and styles. Second skin sheath dresses with pumped-up hips, catsuits with metal coils and chains, sculptural fabrics surely will garner critical praises.
But this is Manish Arora's runway....his moments, and wearability is simply besides the point.
