Karl Lagerfeld no less had nice things about him, as the man who could eventually succeed him at Chanel. Haider Ackermann's Summer 2012 in Paris last October 1, was visually pleasing, but hey, it's complicated so does its construction..... often take half hour to put on. The multi-faceted talent has great potentials, his latest Summer collection is beautiful, evocative and challenging.
Ackermann uses men's wear pattern for his women's wear in shiny shantungs and soft silks. Colors were tones of deep magenta, manganese blue, chartreuse, violet and burgundy. They composed one of those moments which were more about the designer making a statement about himself than about fashion.
The silhouette is obviously influenced by Indian tradition with body scarf wrapped on model. Traces of Yves Saint Laurent's Marrakesh influence is Ackermann's tribute to the Maestro.
